About Dr. John

Leadership. Consulting. Narrative Stewardship.

Dr. John DiCicco is an educator, author, leadership consultant, and Narrative Steward whose work sits at the intersection of how we lead and how we tell the stories that define us. He holds a B.S. in Organizational Behavior from Lesley University, an M.S. in Applied Management from Lesley University, and a Ph.D. in Education and Professional Development from Capella University, grounding his work in both academic rigor and real-world application.

John is also the sole proprietor of Organizational Analysis Systems, a Brockton-based consulting practice he has led for decades, providing leadership development, organizational assessment, and strategic guidance to businesses, nonprofits, and individuals seeking clarity and direction.

For more than 35 years, John has taught leadership, organizational behavior, marketing, and project management at Wentworth Institute of Technology and Curry College, shaping thousands of emerging professionals with a philosophy rooted in authenticity, courage, and personal responsibility. He also taught Creative Writing at Quincy College, deepening his commitment to helping individuals express their stories with clarity and emotional truth.

As a consultant, John helps leaders and organizations navigate complexity with clarity and purpose. His approach blends scholarship, lived experience, and a human-centered understanding of organizational dynamics. Whether advising executives, coaching emerging leaders, or guiding teams through change, John's work centers on one core belief:

Leadership is a choice — one made through awareness, integrity, and the stories we choose to live by.

John is the author and co-author of multiple leadership books, including The Authentic Leader, Differencia, Leadership Is a Choice, The Leadership Gene, and The Verdict. His writing distills decades of teaching and consulting into practical insights that help readers understand themselves, their teams, and the forces that shape effective leadership.

Alongside his leadership work, John serves as a Narrative Steward — a role that extends far beyond traditional ghostwriting. Stewardship is not about writing for someone; it is about writing with them. It is a collaborative, interpretive process rooted in deep listening, emotional presence, and the ability to translate lived experience into meaningful narrative form.

Selected Narrative Work

  • Nurturing Love Through the Silence — a deeply personal account of his father's journey with Alzheimer's.
  • Who We Are — an epistemological and philosophical exploration of human existence and identity.
  • God's Unconditional Love Heals the Wounded Dove — co-authored with a survivor whose story of trauma, faith, and healing continues to inspire readers.
  • Jordan's Rich Journey — a memoir of resilience, purpose, and hope in the face of Parkinson's.
  • From Chimpay to Cabo In Development — a forthcoming story tracing how two immigrants from Argentina transformed hope into opportunity and opportunity into a legacy. A testament to love, grit, and the enduring spirit of the American dream.

Today, John's consulting, teaching, authorship, and narrative work come together in a unified mission: to help people lead with authenticity and tell the stories that define who they are and who they aspire to become.

Dr. Robert 'Bob' Cuomo — longtime collaborator and co-author

Honoring Bob Cuomo

A partnership that shaped a generation of leaders.

For more than a decade, John collaborated with his dear friend and colleague Dr. Robert Cuomo, whose insight, intellect, and generosity shaped some of their most influential leadership books. Together they co-authored The Authentic Leader, Differencia, and The Verdict — works that continue to guide leaders seeking clarity and purpose.

Bob's passing marked the end of a remarkable partnership, but his voice and vision remain woven into the fabric of John's work. This site honors their shared legacy and the enduring impact of their collaboration.

"Authentic leadership is not about authority, but about awareness; not about control, but about conscience."
